TRIGGER WARNING
Somewhere on this Earth there is a person
a person who has done unthinkable things
a person who groomed a young girl online,
told her to cut herself, told her to kill herself
a person who took a man's daughter away
and left a hole in him forever
this person has not been caught
and no one knows who they are
except for them
I tried to write about this man's pain,
about the tragedy of what has been lost,
about how we are all in some ways complicit
because our society produced this monster,
but I couldn't do it justice
there is no justice
only grief and protection from further harm
only the flowers we're willing to lay down
only the sword we're willing to pick up
