I wish I could create something beautiful for you to see
something that makes you feel the way that lilacs smell to me
something so real, it bypasses the judgments we project
like when you're drunkenly in awe and have nothing but respect
something that doesn't seem like it's trying to buy your attention
but instead feels like a doorway to a different dimension
or a major step on your path to ascension
all because you saw past what other people thought was pretension
I'm truly sorry to so many people for not being sensitive enough
you know it can be like that when you try too hard
to find a balance between what's good and times that are tough
when you're spinning and running and crashing and dying...
But the balance is what makes a relationship work.
Not where you both do the same things,
but where you both have equal respect
for the part the other one plays.
