All you wanted was to live simply,
but someone else was wearing a crown.
So you tried to mind your business,
but their eyes were all around.
Then you tried to change things,
but they labeled you a clown.
Every time you tried to lift up,
someone else was pressing down.
It is hard to live simply
when someone else is wearing a crown.
